Scrappy Quarter Log Cabin Quilt {Pink Progress}

A couple of weeks ago, I made a scrappy quarter log cabin cushion for the couch. It's quite heavily quilted and sturdy for the amount of sitting and leaning and cuddling that will be required of it. Since then, I haven't been able to get out of my head the idea that I'd like to make a quilt out of scrappy quarter log cabin blocks... so I set about doing that.

I figured that it could be a second Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) project, so I caught up on last month's colour which was pink. I seem to have a fair few pink scraps of fabric. I ended up making 14 x 6" quarter log cabin blocks in pink. They're now put away so I can start making this month's colour blocks, which will be yellow. I don't have a huge amount of yellow fabric so I don't think I'll get 14 blocks, but I'll see how I go.

My other RSC challenge is the hexie blocks. I'm part way through appliqueing my yellow scrappy hexie flowers to their monochromatic backgrounds and will have those done soon too.

  4. Your pink quarter logs are beautiful too! That's a color I don't have enough of to be able to make blocks. Glad for you that you'll have them in your rainbow quilt.
