Zoom Stitching

On Saturday, I joined Chooky and the Chookshed Stitchers for a celebratory zoom. Ladies from all over the world joined in at various times through the day to sit, chat and stitch (or sew or crochet etc) and generally solve all the world problems… as you do.

I worked on my Midnight at the Oasis quilt, adding big stitch quilting here and there. I’m at the second last border now and I think a couple more zoom sessions and I’ll be finished.

I couldn’t stay the whole time as I had kids to drive around (they don’t call it mum’s taxi for nothing) and then in the afternoon I logged out as hubby and I were going on a date.

Dinner and a movie - our movie session was booked for 6pm so dinner ended up being burgers on our way to the cinema.

We watched Top Gun Maverick which was absolutely amazing. I’ve heard mixed reviews from friends, but we absolutely loved the film. It’s a little bit cheesy in places, but I think it adds to the experience. If you plan on watching it, I recommend watching the first one again before you go as there’s lots in this film which refers back to the original.

And as a fun fluke, our seats were numbers F13 and F14 (which was the jet flown in the original) so being that he’s a pilot, hubby got that drivers seat 😂

Thanks Chookyblue for hosting another fun zoom stitching day for us. Looking forward to the next one.

I think we saw TopGun a zillion years ago.
We are in no rush to go to the theater here. Maybe it will be out on Netflix or another format
one day. Life is so different now.

  14. I'm glad to see you're enjoying Zoom calls. It's one of the few GOOD things that came out of the pandemic, isn't it? I cherish being able to take virtual workshops, and connect with friends. I hope to try a FaceTime group call with a few special quilters. It's wonderful that you and hubs still have a date night! Seeing a movie... ahh, I haven't done that for years! Mostly because I can't seem to get the projectionist to agree to "pause" for a bathroom break! :-) It's nice that you two were able to see a movie you liked.
