FNwF - January 2022

For the first Friday Night with Friends (hosted by Gone Stitchin') I sorted and cut out fabrics for my first Island Batik project. The colour set I received is called Tantalizing Teal and is made up of my most favourite colours palette.

Some of the colours/prints were quite similar, so to keep them sorted, I numbered the printout with the colours/fabrics I used on EQ8 and then used my chalk pencil to number the actual fabric to keep them sorted. So far, so good and I hope to get all of my blocks put together before the chalk rubs off :)

I spent a fair bit of time cutting up fabric and ended up with with this lovely stack of triangles. Don't they look all pretty when lined up like that? As I was cutting and sewing at night, the lighting is pretty poor, so I do apologise.

I even got time to start putting some of the blocks together before it was time to rush out and pick up my son from his evening McDonald's shift. Luckily, we managed to get home just before the storm hit. It was a quick rush to get his uniform washed before he went off to work again this morning. He's a busy boy and as he's almost 16 (like seriously?!?!) he's now saving up for a car.

Now I'm off to go and see what everyone else got up to last night on their FNwF January 2022 creative night.

  10. That certainly is a pretty color palette. One of my favorites. Glad you could have some cutting-out time. Ahh, I remember the days of running kids. Don't miss that, but miss the kids at those ages.
