Quick Christmas Tree Skirt

I love to sew for Christmas and I try to make something new each year to decorate my home.

This year, I decided that I needed a new skirt for my Christmas tree. To make this cute little skirt, I used 3 FQ's of a lovely Aussie Christmas print by Amanda Joy Designs and my large Creative Grids 22.5 degree triangle (wedge) ruler which I was lucky enough to win from Aqua Paisley Studio blog.

To make this type of skirt using a wedge ruler, you just need to make enough wedges to make the complete circle shape. The amount of wedges will depend on the degree of the wedge shape.

Once I'd cut up the pieces, and sewed all but one raw edge together, I layered it with some thin batting, backed in flannelette and quilted it all over.

I finished it with some store-bought bias binding and it's all ready to live under my Christmas tree.

Have you done much Christmas sewing yet this year?
