A Memory Pillow

A few weeks ago, I received a message from a lady who had recently lost her mum. She must have seen some of my custom cushions here on my blog, or possibly on Pinterest/Instagram and asked if I could make a memory pillow for her.

We went through different font options along with colour and fabric ideas. On the front, she wanted her mum's name and on the back, this beautiful poem by AA Milne. Colours were pastel and she liked the 'shabby chic' look.

It has lots of little details, made primarily in this lovely Tanya Whelan floral print. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a TW print that I haven't immediately loved.

This is the memory pillow which I made for her. I hope she loves it as much as I enjoyed making it.

  1. This is lovely, Anorina. Did you stitch the embroidered verses by hand? What a special keepsake you've created.

  2. I love the idea and it is beautiful! - however, if it were my mom I would want it to be made from fabric of clothing she owned and loved - not fabric that she had never seen and touched.

  5. How very nice! Her mom was the same age as me, right down to the month. Rather humbling.

  8. That’s gorgeous and very very special Anorina. What a privilege to make such a precious gift. I agree....there’s no TW fabric I don’t fall in love with immediately either! Xx

  9. So sweet! You put that together beautifully, and the poem is lovely. This is such a nice keepsake, and a great compliment to your talents to have been asked to make it. Good for you!
