Red Velvet Crochet Blanket

With the cooler weather upon us, it was time to dig out this Red Velvet crochet blanket that I've been working on (and off) for the past couple of years.

I searched the blog was surprised that I wasn't able to find any reference to it at all. I was hoping to find a start date for it.

I bought a bunch of these Caron Cakes (in red velvet colourway) a couple of years ago during a sale at Spotlight. These cakes are made up of 80% acrylic and 20% are a 10 ply yarn.

It's a nice big granny rectangle - I found the tutorial for this rectangle on YouTube, though honestly can't remember which video it was. If you'd like to start one too, maybe just search for a crochet granny rectangle.

When I finish this yarn cake, I have one more in my stash, so that'll be how big the blanket gets. It was originally intended for my son, but over the past couple of years, he's gotten so tall that I'm not sure how useful it'll be for him, other than as a leg/lap warmer :)

    1. Hi Ondrea, thanks for stopping by. Yes he's certainly a boy who loves to snuggle under a blanket when he's watching telly or playing on his xbox. I hope you have a lovely weekend x
