Slow Cooker : Choc Mint Fudge {RECIPE}

Here’s a recipe for decadent and delicious Choc Mint Fudge - made in the slow cooker (dutch oven). It’s perfect for the sweet tooth in the family, or to cut up into cubes, wrap in cellophane plastic with a lovely ribbon and surprise friends or work colleagues.




Making fudge in the slow cooker is super easy and a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen.


Ingredients:

1 can of sweetened condensed milk
2 –3 cups of chocolate – I use a combination of both milk and dark chocolate melts
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons peppermint essence


Method:

Place all of the ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low for approximately 1 hour, stirring every 15-20 minutes. The lid is not required on the slow cooker for this recipe.

Once it’s all melded deliciously together, lay some baking paper in the base of a dish and pour in the chocolate mixture. Let it cool a little before placing in the refrigerator to set.


Once set (after about an hour or two), cut into cubes and enjoy.

Store in an air tight container in the cupboard. Mine has never lasted more than a week at home.

* I made this fudge over the weekend with leftover Easter eggs and I added orange essence, rather than peppermint. Also delicious and it tasted just like jaffa. Yum!
