Freeform Rainbows

I’ve been enjoying some slow sewing, working on the freehand rainbow appliqué project, created by Jo Avery for Making Zen.

If you’d not heard of it, Making Zen was an online retreat with teachers sharing a class. It was free to view last week and can now be accessed at a fee.

I loved Jo’s project and knew it would be the first one I would make. I just love rainbows, bright colours and needle-turn applique.

The blocks are coming along nicely and the Aurifil 80wt cotton thread is beautiful for appliqué. It’s very fine and practically disappears into the fabric when stitching.

I look forward to sitting down and working on them again later in the day... or I may just sneak in a few stitches now ;-)
