Bigs and Smalls Quilt

Throughout the year, I've been working on my scrappy rainbow hexies and appliqueing them to their black and white background squares. It's been my 2021 slow-sewing project, all the while, participating in the monthly rainbow scrap challenge hosted by So Scrappy.

It's been a fun, slow-sewing project that I could pick up and work on every so often, or take on a car journey. After making a whole bunch of regular 1" hexagons, I decided to make some bigger ones and incorporate them in the project.

It's grown quite nicely and I hope to have it finished by the end of 2021 so that I can start a new rainbow challenge quilt next year.

  5. I love it, I have a hexi project also that is when there is time, or a long car ride. I would of never thought of doing them on a black background plus adding the larger sizes. Thanks for sharing, you have inspired me to pick my project back up once the holidays settle down.

    1. Thanks Fiona. I think I need to make one more big hexie block before putting it all together. I have a "thing" about needing odd numbers.
