Leader & Ender : Autumn Love

Last year (or possibly the year before?) I made a quilt top using some charm packs of Autumn Love by Lori Holt. I love autumn and everything about it. I love this fabric range with it's lovely warm colours and sweet prints... too bad I didn't love the initial quilt top I'd made.
After unpicking the whole lot, I played around with the little squares and decided on this square in a square block.

To make one of these blocks, you need three x 2.5" squares. One for the centre of the block and the other two squares are cut diagonally to yield 4 HST's.

Centre and sew two triangles to opposite sides of the square with a scant 1/4" seam. Press. Then centre and sew the other two triangles to the remaining sides of the square. Press the block well and trim down to 3.5" square.

I had all of these little prepared pieces in a small basket beside my sewing machine and it became my leader and ender project for a little while.

Before cutting up more pieces, I counted up my finished blocks and decided that I had enough to start putting them together.

Let's see where this goes...
