QUILTING: Scrappy Happy Rainbow Quilt {progress}

Just a quick one today to share a picture of my Scrappy Happy Rainbow Quilt. I hadn't touched it since before we went away on holiday, so the long scrappy colour strips were sitting on the back of my sewing chair.

I was originally going to do all of the colour strips and then put it together for a great bit TADAH moment - but yesterday, on a whim, I decided to sew them together.

The first thing I found was the quilt is way wider than it is longer, which means that rather than move from left to right, the colours will move from top to bottom. You know what? I kind of like the top to bottom look.

I'm now deciding whether to make the green and brown rows - it'll be a very long quilt if I do. Perhaps a narrow green/brown combination row, just so it fulfils my original vision.

Next up, black and white scrappy borders. Time to go digging around in my scrap tubs again.

  1. I think it's fabulous - definitely a very cheerful top! What about putting the green and brown rows on the back as part of a pieced backing?
