** Updated ** Mug Rugs: Sent and Received

It was a happy mail day last week. I haven’t had a chance to post this yet as I’ve had a lot of reviews and giveaways to post lately… plus a few more to come.

I received this absolutely yummy mug rug from Sharon at Lilabelle Lane. This photo really doesn’t do it justice.

The piecing is perfection and the quilting is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Can you believe that this is Sharon’s FIRST mug rug?

Along with the mug rug, the parcel contained a matching blue mug (which is already in use) and a packet of white chocolate tim tams (which were eaten before I could take a photo).

Thank you Sharon. I absolutely love it!!

In return, I made this rainbow, semi dresden mug rug.

I must stop with my Dresden obsession. Perhaps if I make a Dresden Plate  quilt, I’ll get it out of my system once and for all.

*** EDITED *** My mail box was happy today. It was holding my brand new, signed, copy of "Making Quilts... the promise of joy" by Kathy Doughty. I have found THE Dresden quilt to make.

Check out the back cover of Making Quilts by Kathy Doughty. Oooooh!!!!!

Do you have a quilt block that you love and can’t help but keep going back to?

  1. Your Dresden plate mug rug is so pretty! I love your color combinations.
I think if I have a favorite, it is the simple 9 patch. I love the checkerboard pattern it makes.

  2. OOO! I like them both. I have always like baskets blocks but I don't really have a certain block obsession.

  3. What lovely swap parcels to send and receive, both fantastic, well done girls lovely swap.xx

  4. Both mug rugs are stunning! The quilting on BOTH is amazing. Good luck with the dresden quilt, it looks like a brain-bender, lol...

  5. Gorgeous mug rugs!! I've been making red dresdans recently. Aren't they great! You didn't have to wait long for your book, I hope its as good as you thought.
