The age old debate

A little bit of fun for this Thursday evening…

I found this photo on Facebook and shared it with my friends. It got huge response with everyone having an opinion.

So, I thought I’d ask you, my dear readers, what you think?

Option A or Option B?

Which one is correct?

B --> easier to grab the paper ! My boyfriend doesn't care and I always have to replace it !

B! but I grew up with A...

Where is the debate???
It has to be B - this way it is less likely to unroll onto the floor. If people thought about it they would understand :D

My mum always said it needed to be 'b', especially if the toilet was in the bathroom as the walls could get condensation on them and the paper would stick to the wall and soak up the moisture if it was 'a'. My wife doesn't like that logic though and always prefers 'a'.

B of course!

Definitely B! ... The end always seems to get 'lost' when it is 'A'!!!

B is the correct way!

a very emphatic B!!! My kids do not get the differnce and neither does my husband so my big job in the house is to make sure the paper roll is on right!! LOL

I say B but my husband says A.

B! My college roommate preferred A, and it caused a lot of unnecessary stress in my life! :D

A. Definitely A.

At our house it doesn't matter; as long as there's TP on the TP holder, who cares.

B as it is easier to reach

definitely B. that's the way hotels do it with their fancy points. A is just sloppy.

B, of course!

I feel that B is correct, now if I could convince my family that would be great

I'd be curious to hear a reasonable explanation for option A.

B, of course...although my husband always puts the paper on using A. I have always wondered if that's because he grew up in a household where most of the people were left-handed. He fastens twist ties backwards too.

B. I'm told that cat owners prefer A.

Cherie said...

Is there a "correct" way or just the way some people prefer.....
I'd go with B, however there is always someone who puts it A!

Woo hoo! I'm so glad to see that so many agree with me - B!

Definately B!
On the rare occasion that someone else places the new roll I usually have to change it round.

B for sure. What if the wall was dirty and the paper scraped along it?

Crystal said...

Civilized people will know that the answer is B, lol.

B- i dont understand A

There was a court case on this a few years ago (I think part of a divorce or something) and the final ruling was B. The reason was that the manufacturers put the print on the outside of the roll and if you hang it the other way then the print doesn't show on the section hanging down!

B. Yet after 31 years of seeing it hung that way (by me), the few times my husband replaces the roll he still hangs it the wrong way (A).

I am a b person but whatever makes you happy.

Definitely B!!!

Option B!

I like "A" because "B" sometimes doesn't stop rolling out when you have little people using the the bathroom and a great portion of paper ends up on the floor.

B!!!! And i change any A's to the B psition!!

Dawn said...

B.....of course! lol

I'm definitely in the minority, but would have to say "A" for that type of holder. However, here in Japan the holders have little roofs on them to cut the paper, so you have to set it the "B" way or else it won't cut. Cultural differences abound even in the humblest of places...

A. If you do it the other way, more comes off the roll, & unless you want to use more (which of course the manufacturers' want). Hang it by the A diagram & you control the amount of paper coming off the roll better. Want to guess which way it is dispensed in my house?

It's always been B for me. However, my husband messes me up all the time by flipping the roll...drives me crazy! It's a constant battle to keep that roll in it's proper position in our house! LOL. Be blessed, Kathy

I prefer B but if there is a small child, puppy or kitten in the house sometimes it has to be A.

B it is, and always has been.

FUNNY when we got married, phil went with A and i went with B. we now go excusively with B

Definitely no debate needed "B" it is and always will be!

Definitely "B". Anytime there is one using the "A" configuration (for lack of a better word) I am always smacking my fingernails against the wall trying to grab that paper. LOL When I met my "new and improved" hubby in 2000, he used to turn it around to A all the time. I finally set him straight and we now live happily ever after with our paper in the "B" direction. LOL

B - especially if there's a directional print on the roll; same for kitchen towels!
