You CAN make a tea cosy!!

The other day, I posted asking for ideas for the Spring Fair (which will be held in September) at my sons school. Here is the link if you’d like to have a look.

I received some fabulous feedback here on my blog and also over on my Samelia’s Mum Facebook page - for things to make. Thank you to everyone who suggested something. I really appreciate it. Feel free to leave your  suggestions. I love new ideas.

Tea-cosies have come into my radar. We only had a few in the stall last year, and they sold, SUPER quickly. I’ve put the word out to some of the mums at school, to see if anyone can knit or crochet some.

Then I thought, maybe it’s time I combat my fear of knitting and crochet, find a tutorial and actually learn how to make them myself.

But low and behold, I’ve trawled the internet and found ways around it. Tea-cosies which are not knitted or crocheted. Seriously! And they’re absolutely gorgeous!

This beautiful one is made by Bella Dia and the tutorial can be found HERE. Isn’t it absolutely fabulous? I have this one on my to do list.

What about a foundation pieced and quilted one by Kerry? Tea Pot Fancy Tutorial by Kerry can be found HERE.

… and here is Amy’s variation, using Kerry’s tutorial. Love the colours and the quilted steam. Soooo cute!

This cute ginger bread house one is called ‘So very cosy’ and is made by Wild Olive and the tutorial is HERE.

This one is from Sew We Craft and it’s delightfully called a ‘Tea Cosy for a Proper English Tea’. Isn’t this just the perfect name for it?

I hope I was able to give you some inspiration today. Perhaps it’s time your tea pot got a new dress or outfit?

Do you drink tea?

From cups or pots?

Do you love tea-cosies?

I occasionally drink tea from a cup. However, I LOVE tea cozies. I think I may have to change my ways just to have one or two cute cozies.

I'm a coffee drinker, but love the idea of tea-cosies too.
I'll need to get some tea pots to display my cosies ;-)

There are some clever people out there, aren't there :-)

Thank you for sharing, they are cute! Here at Turkey they have different tradition about tea drinking) but I can do it for my mum!))

What CUTE ideas!! I especially love the pink one, but all are adorable. I'm afraid I don't drink much tea -- only iced tea in the summer. But I've always loved tea pots, ever since I was a little girl and had tea parties with a miniature china tea set.

I do drink tea occasionally. I prefer leaf tea (in a pot) to tea bag tea. No, we don't use a tea cosy. We did but it ended up so filthy because it was on our preparation bench 24/7 that we threw it away and do it without!
