Rainbow of thread

Look at this case full of rainbow loveliness I discovered in my mum's sewing room earlier this afternoon.

I mentioned to mum that I'd bought some perle thread to have a go at hand quilting with it.

A light bulb went off in her head and she rummaged, then rummaged some more and came out with her old make up case - you know the heavy duty ones from the 60's that even have a lock on the clasp?

She opened it up and it was like we'd discovered buried treasure.

These lovelies now have a new home here in my sewing room. Thanks mum!

  9. OH WOW please please send some my way. I went to buy some at Spotlight $5.99 each. I pick mine up at Cobbity Markets where a guy sells them 4 for $10 (I think or there abouts).
I'm going to do my new grand daughter quilt with cotton perle - I've basted it and now all I have to do is quilt it.
    Have fun with them

  15. I always feel lucky to have my mum as she lets me troll through her fabrics when I can't find just what I want at the shops! Must be a 'Mum' thing to share around what you have :D. Now you'll have to find projects for all these pretty colours.
