Blue Scraps, Organic Quilting and a Llama

It's been a busy couple of weeks though I can't show you what I've been working on (just yet). It's a secret project that I can hopefully divulge in September.

Then after tidying up and trying to keep the sewing room under control, I pulled out the blue scrap bag and made a new table runner.

Simple 2.5" strips sewn together to make an item which will be used on the dining table every day.

I quilted it with organic lovely lines. Every so often I'd quilt a nice straight line to make the not-so-straight lines stand out even more. Green backing fabric and green binding finish it off nicely. I remember mum saying blue and green should never be seen, but hey, I think these look just fine together.

I bought this Llama Planter from Kmart and the succulent from Ikea (yes, they sell plants too!!) Larry the Llama decided that he'd join in the photoshoot. He looks quite dashing, don't you think?

  1. Anorina, this is a sweet table runner. The Llama is adorable.
I do not think we have Kmart on the east coast (northern Virginia specifically)

    1. Thank you. I think that the Llama is the latest animal craze (remember when it was all about the flamingo or the penguin?).

    1. Thanks Maria. Blue isn't my favourite, but I really do seem to sew with a lot of blue fabrics. Funny that! Have a great day x

    1. Thank you. He is a lovely Llama. I bought the plant from Ikea and it had a few babies growing in the pot. I've separated them all and will hopefully have them survive and thrive. Fingers crossed.

    1. He's a handsome little fellow. My daughter has outgrown her lifelong (all 11 years) unicorn obsession and is now REALLY into llamas. Apparently you can buy them on gumtree. She's been researching.

My mother used to say the same thing about blue and green.
    I totally love the llama.
