Lulabelle & The Pixie Basket

Do you ever have those days, where you want to sew something (anything), but lack direction?

This was me yesterday. Husband was away on a trip and the kids were at school. The house was quiet and after finishing all of the morning jobs I had a few hours to sew.

This Pixie Basket had been popping up all over Instagram. It's a cute pattern by Heidi of Fabric Mutt, released as part of the #QuiltNon2016 fun.

I used a couple of prints from the Lulabelle range by Dodi Lee for Riley Blake Designs plus extra thin Ric-Rac to embellish. I quilted the layers with lovely a silvery perle 8 cotton.

This is quite an elegant range with some interesting prints (which would be great for fussy cutting). I can imagine a whole room filled with soft furnishings, created in this contemporary palette... or hexies.

Can't go wrong with hexies, right?
