Five for Friday

Eating

As you may be aware, I love Pinterest. I usually have a little look at the latest pretty pins, before I go to sleep. Or when I’m waiting for the kids to get ready for school. Or when I’m out at kids activities.

I came across a fab recipe for a mug cake and just had to try it – right then and there! Do you ever get those weird urges?

Reading

The Comfort of Lies is the book, currently on my bedside table. I don’t read as quickly as I used to. I remember as a teen, I would read “Sweet Dreams” and “Sweet Valley High” books, like they were going out of fashion. Oh hang on, they are out of fashion. I’d go to my local library and borrow the 8 book limit and read them all in a week.

The Comfort of Lies

The Comfort of Lies has been a good read so far. The story is intertwined between three women and a little girl who is the product of an extra marital affair. I’m about 1/3 of the way through and am looking forward to taking it with me on the weekend.

Playing

I received a new iPad cover from The Snugg to review this week. My iPad is actually FlyBoy’s old iPad. Just in case you’re wondering, FlyBoy is the new name I’m going to use for hubby here on Samelia’s Mum. So anyways, FlyBoy got a new iPad through work, which means that I inherited his old one. Yay me!

But in saying this, I also inherited his ratty old cover. He’s quite conservative, so it’s black and plain and boring and beginning to show a fair bit of wear and tear.

The Snugg iPad Cover - Aqua

My lovely new aqua blue The Snugg iPad cover is just lovely… and somehow it knows when I open the cover because it switches the iPad on. Yes, seriously bizarre and cool all at once.

Family

We’re heading up the coast for a lovely little weekend away. We’re heading to Lake Macquarie for a little bit of relaxation, exploration and family time. The kids are excited and have already packed a couple of bags with necessities… including tiara’s, teddy bears and bottles of bubble liquid. I may need to cull a few of their necessities.

Sewing

It’s FNWF night. I should be getting my weekend bag organised, but I am spending some time on a little bit of hand quilting. My circle quilt is almost finished and I really want to finish off those circles, before starting on some applique. I always like to have something on the go.
