I’m working on a new quilt, which I’m going to call “Flutter By”.
I joined my online sewing friends for the Friday Night Sew In by cutting up a layer cake to make these cute butterfly blocks. I was out on Friday night, so I actually started my sewing on Friday afternoon.
The black/white squiggly fabric is from Spotlight and I will probably need to pop into the store to get some more. I had about a metre of it, but I don’t think it will be enough. Any excuse to visit the fabric store, right?
After cutting up my fabrics, I had to make a block or two. I couldn’t resist. They were just so pretty and were calling my name.
I wasn’t home of Friday night because I was out DOING THIS. But I did make up a few more blocks yesterday. They come together quickly and are such fun. I can’t help but smile as I’m sewing.
I’ll have this block tutorial up on my blog later this week, so keep an eye out if you’d like to make your own “Flutter By” quilt.
I’ve entered a quilt in this weeks Quilting Gallery contest and would love your vote. If you have a spare moment, please VOTE FOR SCRAPALICIOUS HERE. Thank you x
Have you done much sewing this weekend?
This is a fun block! I like how the wings are a single piece of fabric without seams to break up larger scale prints.
