Sew Seasonal Blog Hop

Welcome to the the Sew Seasonal Blog Hop hosted by Quiet Play and Blossom Heart Quilts.
Kristy (QP) and Alyce (BHQ) currently have these patterns available for FREE on Craftsy – but you must be quick as this special ends very soon. Click HERE for the Sew Seasonal paper pieced pattern and HERE for the Ornamental pattern.
Now for my block. I was assigned Block # 4 from Alyce’s (BHQ) beautiful Ornamental quilt pattern.
Me, being me, I decided to change it up a bit.
I used prints rather than solid fabric. And I used stitched central panels rather than print fabrics.
I stitched these festive little blocks well over a year ago and recently rediscovered them. Don’t you love finding things you forgot you had?
I measured and found they’d be perfect to complete the 10” finished blocks.
Ornamental 1
This was the moment I decided that rather than use white solid fabric for the outer border, I’d use this white print with red squiggles.
Once my blocks were complete, I played around with the layouts.

Ornamental 2
As the wall hanging isn’t quite finished, come back in a day or two and I’ll show you the final product… and the layout which I used.
Now what is a blog hop without some fun prizes, right?
Create something special and festive with one or more more of these free blocks and be in the running to win one of these prizes:
2 x $10 vouchers
Joy by Kate Spain - full fat quarter bundle + panel
2 x $25 vouchers
1 x $25 voucher
$30 gift voucher
Japanese Christmas fabric - fat eighth bundle
Charm pack
Plus, are you needing some Christmas fabric supplies for the hop? Well, Chrissy from Sew Lux Fabrics has set up a special discount code on Christmas fabrics in her shop! So if you need supplies, be sure to check it out. The code is "sewseasonal10" and is for 10% off all Christmas fabric (Joy, Blitzen, and Sentiments) through November 18th.
