Zooming Rainbows

I had a great time zooming with Chookyblue and a number of crafty ladies from around the world. The zoom started at 6am (AEST) and went on all through the day with people popping in and out throughout. So much fun!

I had a few things to do yesterday, so couldn't be there for long, but it was nice to be able to pop in for an hour here or another hour there through the day and join in the chatting.

I finished appliqueing my freeform rainbows (blogged here), trimmed and put the blocks together. A medium pellon (fusible poly fleece) has been fused to the back and I've started big stitch hand quilting, in bright happy colours with Aurifil 12wt cotton thread.

Thanks to Chooky for organising the zooms for us. If you'd like to find out when the next zoom is on, visit Chookyblue's blog where she'll post about any upcoming zooms.

PS Like many other bloggers, I've been advised that people aren't able to comment on my blog as they kept getting logged out of their google account. It seems to be a common problem with blogger blogs, but hopefully it gets fixed soon. I've changed my commenting system to accept anonymous comments and will see how that goes for the next little while.

Thanks for your patience!

    1. You too! I hadn't been on the last few zooms, so it was good to be able to pop in for a little bit. The driving lesson went well and he came home very pleased with himself. Tells me he thinks he'd like for us to start practising in my car... ummm... not sure I'm ready for that!

  3. I have heard of a lot of people having trouble leaving comments too on various blogs - I wonder what the problem is it has been going on for ages it seems. That is nice that you do zoom with your quilting friends - lovely colorful project you got there

    1. I guess they did some sort of update (it looks a little different now) and probably need to iron out the kinks to get it working properly again.
The zooms are quite fun with lots of ladies joining in from all over the world. You know us quilters - we don't need to know someone well to be able to sit and chat for hours. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

  5. Yes, I’m one of the ones having trouble commenting! I even logged on, and back in again to all my Google accounts but nothing has changed. I even wrote a blogpost about. Love your free form rainbows. How lovely to have a Zoom sew-in! Susan (PatchworknPlay)

    1. It's very frustrating Susan and I hope they get it working again soon. Maybe the people at Blogger need to reboot their systems - seems to solve most computery problems ;-)

    1. Thanks for hosting us. It's such fun!
I use Aurifil 12wt cotton thread for the big stitch quilting. It's slightly finer than the DMC perle 8 cotton which makes it much easier to thread through the needle.
