Geranium Delight Quilt

Even though I'm probably the slowest English paper piecer on the planet, I really quite enjoy it.

The process of choosing the colours and prints, basting and putting the blocks together. Creating interesting blocks that would be very tricky to make with regular rotary cutting or templates.

Now that my Smitten quilt is finished, I've started on this new EPP quilt called 'Geranium Delight'. The blocks will be made up of jewel and hexagon paper pieces.

I used my Crafters Edge Crossover II machine to cut out the shapes. I use manilla folders to make my papers as they're easy to find at the store, can be bought in bulk and are quite cheap.

Geranium Delight will be made with some of my 1930s inspired fabric prints. These fabrics have been sitting on my shelf for years so it's finally time that I put them to use . I love looking at old quilts on Pinterest. Quilts made with these sweet pastel colours and cute prints, so it was high time I made my own.

If you've ever thought about purchasing a Crafters Edge Crossover II machine, now is the time because for the month of July, they're 25% off. Visit the Crafters Edge store to place your order.

  2. You brave person. I would not be able to complete more that a block. I tried La Passagalia a few years ago and ran away screaming after one block. I cannot EPP and keep sanity. Looks wonderful so far.

    1. LOL I don't think I could attempt the La Pass quilt either. It's way too fiddly for me, with a lot of small pieces. This project has large paper pieces and this block will be appliqued to a FQ.

  3. this one is going to be fun!! 🌸🌟🌼🍄 I print and cut my own templates and I like the hole in the center. I punch a hole in mine too, easier to pull out. I have a quilt idea in mind, with larger papers but I should prep and take it with me Seriously, this is such a portable project and .... we do not look "preoccupied" do we? No no, we are listening and enjoying just keeping these hands busy... and perhaps from shoving too much baked goods into our mouths hahahha🔆😁

    1. Yes exactly right. We are not ignoring conversations around us, just using all of our time effectively and productively. I gosh, I do love baked goods. Hope you're having a lovely summer :)
