Welcome to my stop on the Stitching Sunshine blog hop, hosted by Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks.
As I was cutting up the fabric to make my little sunshines, a song kept playing over and over in my mind "Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together..."
(I'll share the video at the end of this post to add a little extra sunshininess to your day).
The theme for this blog hop was Sunshine, so I thought I'd make some fun little coasters. I gathered a handful of orange, yellow and red scraps and cut out the pieces freehand. Arranged them on charm squares and took them over to my sewing machine to applique.
I decided to use black thread because I really quite like that defined look around each shape.
Once appliqued, I sandwiched with batting and backing and did some quilting with that same black thread. Black/charcoal print fabric for the bindings and these little coasters are ready to use.
Here's the list of my fellow Stitching Sunshine blog hop participants. Go and have a little look at what sunshiney things everyone has made.

Thanks Kay. We do love having lunch out in the garden during the summer time, though at the moment, it's quite chilly.
Thank you. Originally I'd planned on a yellow and white stripe binding but it was a little bit wishy washy, but really like how the black turned out too :)
Thank you. I like how they turned out too and have already put them to good use ;-)

Hi Charlene, thanks for your lovely comment. I didn't know this song was on Ski Party - I'll have to go and have a google.

Beautiful coasters Anorina, I have not hear that song for years 😁😁
Heard not hear !! 🤔
Very pretty bits of sunshine!
Those are wonderful coasters! A great inspiration for some yellow and orange scraps!
Cute and cheery coasters. I like the use of black thread.
Such fun suns! Very cute.
Those are very cute coasters! Thanks for sharing your bright, sunny idea!
Nice that you could make such cute coasters using scraps! I love the free-form style of them... like they're supposed to be sort of wonky. Looking at the list of bloggers, I'm surprised to see how many people are still blogging! Seems that more than half of the people I followed just six to seven years ago, have stopped. Have you switched your blog to the New Blogger format? No surprise that it requires learning a few things, and doesn't function with pictures as well as the old version. Sometimes WordPress looks really attractive.
Awwwww gosh, these sunny shine coasters are so adorable. I love them Anorina
These are so sweet! Very fun looking!:)
Just loving these sunshiny blocks!
The coasters are so bright and sunshiny. They couldn't be any more perfect for this hop. Have a sunshiny day!
The freestyle appliqué approach is definitely liberating. Looks like making them was a breeze too.
Beautiful and Bright and Not Too Hard = Win Win Win!!!
I love this type of applique and the effect of the black thread . Wonderful job. Thanks for sharing them with us.
