Hello friends and welcome to my turn on the Spelling Bee Sew Along, hosted by Fat Quarter Shop.
Spelling Bee is the sweet new book by Lori Holt and is filled with alphabet blocks, punctuation blocks, cute picture blocks and 18 gorgeous projects.
The sew along features 88 blocks from the book and will continue for the next 44 weeks, with 2 blocks shared each week.
The block I'm sharing today is the bird block.
The block instructions come in two sizes and I decided to make the 6" block. I used a fat eighth panel of Cozy Christmas by Lori Holt which was perfect for each different colour section of the block.
NB: I just checked the website and Cozy Christmas is currently on sale at Fat Quarter Shop. It is one of THE CUTEST Christmas fabric ranges.
After creating my block, I added a border and then quilted and bound it, making a cute coaster. Perhaps I'll get time to make a few more and create a whole set of birdie coasters. They'd make a fun Christmas gift, don't you think?
