Quilt in a day…

I made a quilt - in a day.

In the Jungle Quilt 1

My 2 little helpers were holding it up for the photo. It had been raining all day, so we made the most of the last little bit of outside light before they headed in for bath and bed time.
It’s not a quilt which has a lot of detail or intricate design… but it is a quilt nonetheless.

In the Jungle 2 (2)

A friend of mine had a baby last night. I waited with baited breath to find out if it was a boy or girl. I had both boy and girl fabrics at the ready.
When I heard it was a boy, I said my congratulations and cut my fabrics.
Then it was only a matter of putting it together.
I quilted it in a meandering pattern and machine bound it.

Quilting (999x749)

I’m very pleased with the result. It’s a great size for a little fellow and I’m hoping it will be a well loved quilt.
Tomorrow I plan on going to visit mum and bub in the hospital… and get some newborn baby cuddles. Cluck, cluck, cluck…

  4. Gorgeous!

I can never actually finish a quilt in a day, I can get through all the steps only to give up at the binding and leave that for another day!

I don't know what it is, but I just hate doing the binding!
