The Highs and Lows of 2020 Quilt {Progress}

Almost a tadah... I've been working away this last couple of weeks at finishing off my temperature quilt for 2020.

I'm so happy that I have a quilt top together, though I may need to tweak it a little bit as I still have the last 6 days of the year to attach.  I'm went with rows of 18 blocks across so I need to work out how I want that final lower right corner to look. I may just applique a great big 2020 on the bottom there.

Though it's almost finished, I still need to make a label and a colour key to attach to the back. Possibly even a little bit of a story about my 2020, so that I (and possibly future family) can look back on it.

If you were to write a little paragraph about your 2020, to stick on the back of a quilt, what would you include?

  4. This is amazing. Every year I think about doing one but not until it is too late! I couldn't start one later int he year as that just wouldn't work with my tidy and organised nature. We oftenest posts about them online but only when they have been started, I need reminding in late November to get ready and planned for it to start in January. x

    1. No time like the present? I didn't start this one until around March or April and worked on it sporadically. There are some fun ideas for temperature quilts on instagram. One person I saw makes EPP hexagons as they take 7 to make a hexie flower. One day I'll make another one... but I'll leave it for a few years :)

    1. Thanks Karen. It's not as defined as I'd imagined it would be. I may need to try to make another one in a few years time.

  7. This quilt is beautiful this must take a lot of time and patience.

    I just read your post in 2010 with directions for a table runner. I have a question. You said you were using a 5" charm pack for the table runner. I need to make 3 X 9 block

    The first finished block shows a 3 x 9 with nine different fabric designs. Are all the blocks 5" square?

    Pictures can be deceiving too. Looking at the picture of the block it looks like the squares are 3" and the block would end up being a 9 Inch square.

    The pattern is called 12-days-of-christmas-runner-tutorial. Thanks I am through my fabric now to make this.

  8. What a beautiful quilt! I'd probably put the extra blocks on the back although they will also look great on the front! Can't wait to see how you work them in. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
