X Plus Blocks

Remember a few years ago when every second person seemed to be making the X Plus Quilt?

Blocks were all over social media looking, bright, scrappy and just wonderful. I had too much on back then and even though I loved them, decided I just didn't have time.

Fast forward about 5 years and I saw one of these gorgeous scrappy blocks appear on Instagram. Inspiration hit and I cut up and made one block in between making my Courthouse Steps blocks for my Midnight at the Oasis quilt.

These blocks are really quite enjoyable to make and so far, I've just cut up pieces in the required sizes and then mixed and matched when I've gone to sew them.

I'm up to 6 XPlus blocks now and looking to cut up some more later today.

Here are the cutting instructions which I'm using, by Scissor Tail Quilts. I have it printed out and sitting on my table for easy access.

Have you made an X Plus quilt?
