Sugar Stars Quilt {FREE PATTERN}

It's been a while since I shared a pattern here on my blog, so I thought hey, it's the first day of July and a brand new financial year (which according my my accountant is a very exciting time the sun is shining and the birds are tweeting, so why not?

I made my Sugar Stars Quilt a few years ago for a magazine commission. It was made with some of my most favourite fabrics, Flower Sugar by Lecien, and I love, love, loved how this quilt turned out. And so did the magazine editor, who bought it. It never did come back home.

Sugar Stars even made the front cover of the very first issue of 'Love Sewing Australia'.

This pattern makes a 74" x 92" quilt but you can, of course, make it bigger or smaller by adding or subtracting blocks.

I would love to re-make this quilt and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a sew along?

I wonder which fabrics would be as awesome now, as Flower Sugar by Lecien was a few years ago. Or I could go completely scrappy.

What do you think?

As always with my patterns, if you make this quilt, I'd love to see it. Please email me a photo (contact details are up top of the blog) or tag me on your pictures on Instagram - @sameliasmum

  9. A sew along would be fun... but I am not sure if I could keep up taking care of my 95 year old daddy and playing with 4 grand daughters, I try to sew after dinner and oh gosh I am busy.

    Thank you so much for this pattern. I would love to follow along and sew along slowly. Scrappy sounds good.

  15. I would jump on board for a sew along. Star blocks are always a great block for a quilt. Your fabric choices, scrappy, creates a colorful and interesting quilt. Count me in. D. Weeks
