For the first time, in a long time, we had a weekend without plans. Kids soccer was cancelled because of the rain and we had no commitments. We visited my parents house and had a family lunch on Saturday and then decided to go to the movies.
The boys went to see the new LEGO Batman movie, while I went to see Beauty and the Beast with my little girl. I think every other mum in the area had the same idea! The cinema was packed full of mum’s and their little girls. I think secretly, taking our little girls was our excuse to go and see it and relive our childhood.
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful film and a wonderful remake of my most favourite Disney film. The characters came to life better than I imagined they would. The beast was scary and somehow handsome all at once. Belle (Emma Watson) was beautiful and the moment we saw her in the beautiful yellow ball gown, everyone in the audience sighed. I loved Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts and Ewan McGregor as Lumiere was such fun.
If you’ve not been to see it on the big screen yet, I highly recommend it. It’s magical and wonderful and a captivating way to spend an afternoon.
I thought I’d search for some Beauty and the Beast crafty links and think I have found some fun ones to make yourself, or to make with your little ones.
