Sew Cute to Carry {Book Review}

If you’re anything like me, you like the idea of making fun and funky bags to match your different moods and outfits… but have no idea where to begin. The new book by Australian designer Melly McNeice, Sew Cute to Carry, is the perfect book for you (and me).

Sew Cute to Carry

Sew Cute to Carry includes pull out patterns for all the of the 12 featured designs - so you can simply cut out and start sewing straight away.

All of the bag designs are gorgeous and I can imagine using (needing) all of them. Choose from a clutch bag, handbag, backpack, 'sleepover' bag and nappy bag.

Sugar Sweet Shoulder Bag

Each project includes a skill rating right at the beginning. One little handbag icon for a beginner, right through to 5 little handbag icons for the more advanced sewist.

The instructions include a materials “check list” so that you can ensure you have everything you need before starting. Step by step diagrams are excellent for extra clarity and a general techniques section which explains the tools and equipment necessary to make the bag designs is perfect – especially for a newbie.

City Nights Clutch

If you like handbags and want to have a go at making some of your own, Sew Cute to Carry is a wonderful resource. Just think of all of the pretty bags which you could make for yourself and for your family and friends!

Sew Cute to Carry is available from Can Do Books and Booktopia.
