Monster High Party

This past weekend was a big one in our house. My little lady is having a birthday this week, but we had her birthday party with friends, on Saturday. Being that she’s 6 turning 7, Monster High is her MOST favourite thing, EVERY, so a Monster High themed birthday party was our plan.

We spent the morning doing the last minute tidy up of the house, moving furniture around to make space for the kids – after a few weeks of rain, we hoped for a reprieve, but weren’t sure it would happen.

Then the fun began – decorating!! We hung a gigantic 6” tall Monster High poster on the wall as a photo backdrop. We blew up balloons and hung streamers. We had monster high printouts stuck on the front door to welcome guests and balloons on the mail box so that anyone who hadn’t been over, would know how to get here.

Once the house was ready, we set up the fun stations. The Monster High girls like to have fun, so we set up a few spaces around the place with activities for the kids.

Clawdeen’s Claws : a space set out with different bottles of kids nail polish, nail stickers, nail polish remover and cotton balls.

Frankie’s Beauty Salon : Kids make up station, mirror, tissues and baby wipes.

Draculaura’s Dance Party : This is where we set up the speaker and played musical statues (which was a lot of fun).

Cleo’s Cookies : I covered the dining table with a plastic table cloth and set out milk arrowroot biscuits, bowls of different coloured frosting, smarties, sprinkles and chopped up lollies. The kids decorated and made their own cookies to eat. Fun!

The weather held out so the kids enjoyed playing outside while my sister painted faces. She is amazing and spent over an hour out there painting all sorts of things from the Monster High skull logo to ninja’s and even a dinosaur.

Amelia’s birthday isn’t until this week, so I’ll bake her a cake then. For her party, I decided on cupcakes. Brightly decorated pink and blue cupcakes in Monster High colours. These went down a treat and everyone seemed to enjoy them.

Amelia had so much fun with her friends. They ate party food, way too many sweets and danced and played and had a great old time.

If you have a littler person, who like mine, LOVES Monster High, I hope some of these party ideas will come in handy for you.

Just FYI : Monster High costumes, decorations, nail polish and make up were purchased at Toys R Us and Spotlight.
