Jewels of the Sea Quilt

Sea glass is something which my children and I enjoy collecting. We have a favourite local beach which has a limited amount of sea glass wash up to it’s rocky shore. We take the time to hunch over and scour the area, looking for the little shimmering nuggets… jewels from the sea. .

I’ve spent the past week creating my version of a sea glass quilt. I used Prima Homespun Solids from Spotlight, in sea glass tones and pebble quilted around the applique shapes quite heavily with Aurifil 50 weight (colour 2024 – white).

This quilt is heading off to the publishers, so I won’t show you the whole quilt just yet. Keep an eye out for the pattern later in the year.

    1. Thank you Marjorie.
Those pebbles took days to complete and very sore shoulders, but the final result was worth the pain.

  10. Beautiful quilt - I always forget to look for sea glass when I get near the ocean. I'll have to try to remember for next time so I can start my own inspiration collection!
