Gail Pan is a very talented Australian designer and her new book Patchwork Loves Embroidery is just gorgeous and perfect for anyone who wants to sit and enjoy a little hand sewing.
Patchwork Loves Embroidery features 15 projects for embroiderers and sewists of all skill levels. From pincushions and table mats to bags and quilts, there is a project in here to suit any taste.
Can you see Gail in this photo?
Embroidery and sewing basics are covered at the beginning of the book with excellent stitching and sewing instructional diagrams. Gail then encourages the sewist to feel free to mix and match the projects. If we like a stitchery from a quilt but want to use it on a bag, just do it!
The designs are so pretty and whimsical and lend themselves to any number of projects. The full size pattern sheets make transferring the designs so very simple. Love, love, love this!
Personally, I have quite a few sewing deadlines right now, but I couldn’t help myself so I traced one of these patterns and stitched up a pincushion last night.
If you love to stitch or know someone who does, do yourself (or them) a favour and purchase Patchwork Loves Embroidery. It is bursting with projects and ideas and will make a wonderful addition to any craft book library.
