As I've been cutting and piecing, sewing and trimming I've been putting the scraps aside (but not mixing them with my other scraps).
I love this line of fabric so much that I'm already imagining what I can make with the scraps...
Do you do this too?
Dream up scrap projects, while working on the real deal?
Or am I alone in this scrappy madness?
always thinking!!!! yours could be another scrappy cushion for your lovely couch or a throw!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh yes. I do love a scrappy cushion... or 5 :)
DeleteI think I love scraps more than yardage (or do I love yardage more so that I can make scraps?)!! Flower Sugar is beautiful - that's a stunning block!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think I agree. Sometimes cutting into yardage can be a little difficult as we don't want to make a mistake. I think that when we play with scraps, it's easier to be more creative.
DeleteFlower Sugar is probably my most favourite line right now. What's yours?
looks so pretty.. I do like to keep scraps from a range together too...
ReplyDeleteHugz
Thank you. I'm like you - keep it all together.
DeleteThose colours are gorgeous - it is a beautiful range! Look forward to seeing the end product!
ReplyDeleteI think the top is finished... now for the quilting. It'll appear in Creative Expressions Magazine in a couple or months time.
DeleteOh yes, I do that all the time and I often end up liking the "left over quilt" better than the "original". And I've been known to sew left over from the left overs ;)!!! It's looking very pretty by the way.
ReplyDeleteLOL - yes, left overs from the left overs. Flower Sugar is a range where even the tiniest scraps will be saved. Who am I kidding? I keep all my scraps :)
DeleteLove this line of fabric! So very pretty, bright, and cheery!! And, yes, I am always thinking of new projects to make with the left over fabrics and with any other leftovers that I may have in the sewing room. I am always thinking of things to do.
ReplyDeleteHave a super great sewing and stitching day!
I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking a few projects ahead.
DeleteHappy Stitching!!
If I have a successful fabric pull for one project, then I tend to use up what's left before starting something else. I make a lot of potholders (donations for the Ronald McDonald House or friends) or mug rugs, etc. I am really not a keeper of scraps. Just too much trouble. Granted there are times when having a scrap pile would be wonderful but there are so many things to make that I just move on. Can't wait to see your finished product.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I admire your way of thinking.
DeleteI can sometimes get too stuck into keeping and using scraps rather than all of the lovely new fabrics.
Maybe it’s a Capricorn thing :)
