It’s been an exciting couple of weeks in the building of our new house.
I drop the children off at school and go and see what is happening on the land… then when I go and collect the kids from school, I drive by again.
I’m stalking the builders – in the nicest possible way. Really.
I just like to watch them work.
Oh, and cheer them on, in the confines of my car.
Here it was, sitting pretty on the 9th of March 2013…
…and here it is today on the 9th of April 2013.
The frame is up, windows are in place and I have a partial front door. I hadn’t been over there, to see the progress, oh in about 26 hours… so I was super excited to see that the roof trusses were up and we had windows. The builders had gone home for the day, so we all piled out of the car and had a good sticky beak through the security fence.
Here is the sewing room. If you knew how excited I am about the prospect of this space. Words cannot describe it.
That window, straight ahead, faces North, so the room will have good light all day long. I am already imagining where I’ll put my machine and quilt frame… and my comfy chair where I can sit and hand sew.
Perhaps a chair like this one…

Or even, any one of these…

Great progress on the house!
ReplyDeleteMy sewing chair is also my computer chair - the sewing table and the computer desk are at right angles to each other. Hand sewing (binding, embroidery) is done there with my feet propped up on a tool box or in my comfy leather recliner in the lounge room.
I would go the 2nd one but I dream of a clean, crisp, uncluttered, elegant & comfortable space for me to relax in (no pictures of my house it is none of the above) Your future sewing room looks amazing and I can only imagine how excited you must be about it.
