Recipe: Mexican Inspired Layer Dip

Summer is just around the corner which means its almost BBQ and picnic season.

I made this yummy layered dip last night which I first discovered through my friend Beck.

Perfect to make for a summer get together, to share with family and friends.

Best of all, it's super easy!!

Mexican Layered Dip

Ingredients:
Sour Cream
Avocado (or if they're unavailable, Avo Fresh works well too)
1 Jar of Salsa (I used Old El Paso brand - medium heat)
Grated cheese
1 pack of Taco seasoning (optional)
Cherry tomatoes (optional)

You will need a bowl or a deep-ish serving dish.

Mash avocado and lay it on the bottom of the dish

Next is a layer of sour cream - I don't like it too thick but its all down to personal preference. Approximately quarter inch or half a cm

Sprinkle a layer of taco seasoning - this is optional.

Layer of salsa

Top with some cherry tomatoes sliced in halves or quarters and sprinkle with grated tasty cheese.

Scoop up with corn chips or crackers.

Sooooo yummy and super quick and easy to make.

Bring on summer!! Yay!

Do you have a favourite dip or dish you like to make for summer get togethers?

  1. This is a great dip! However, the danger is, just how much of this could you eat in one sitting? I'm worried I could finish it off!

  2. For my family, especially the grandsons, it's simply sliced cold watermelon!
