Finished… in time for Christmas!!

My Tis the Season quilt is FINISHED! And, in time for Christmas - Yay!!!

Tis The Season 2

I ended up hand quilting the sashing, around each embroidery square. And even though I hate it, I quilted in the ditch too (just for fun).

I stopped into Spotlight yesterday, to get some fabric for the binding. You can’t see it very well in this photo, but it’s a burgundy/green/cream pattern and works well with the colours in the quilt.

Some stats:

Start – March 2011

Finish – November 2011

As the stitcheries are a perfect little size, they’re portable and have travelled 1000’s of kilometres with me.

From Wollongong, NSW, to:

Sydney, NSW (many, many times)

Melbourne, VIC (twice)

Lake Conjola, NSW (twice)

Port Vila, Vanuatu

I’m so pleased that it’s finished and I can now start on a new hand stitching project.

Do you like to have a hand stitching project at the ready?

  4. That is an extremely well travelled quilt. Yes, I always have a stitching project on the go. I have A Gardener's Journal at work for during lunch. It is very slow going, but it is getting done. I think it will be ready to put together when I retire. lol

  5. What a pretty quilt. It will be the start of wonderful family Christmas memories for sure.
I like to crochet during waiting room moments, that is, before I got an iPod and now I sit around doing Sudoku. Must get back to crocheting and be productive!

  6. Wooohoooo...go you! The borders finish it off nicely. I always have a bit of hand-stitching on the go...feel a bit lost without it, actually :) Are you joining in the new SAL project?

  7. That looks lovely, Anorina. :) Yes, I like to keep a stitchery project (or hexies) beside my recliner to work on whenever I get the urge to stitch. :0)

I like to keep a stitchery project, handpiecing or hexies beside my recliner for when I get the urge to pick up a needle. :)
