The Challenge

The challenge was set by Sue, of my Bee in Oz group, to make a super-sized version of this block called Interlocking Seasons by The Parfait Cafe.

If you’d like to have a go at it, click on the image (it comes with 8 pages of instructions). The finished block size is 12.5” – but as the blocks we’re making for Sue are going to be used to make a bed sized quilt, our finished blocks are 22.5”.

Sue sent us a variety of Kaffe Fassett fabrics and some Kona Cotton in Bone to complete the block.

Here is my finished block.

It certainly was one of the more challenging blocks I’ve made. I couldn’t seem to get my head around it for some reason. You know what I mean?

I’m pleased that I’ve made it and I’m sure it (and it’s friends) will make an amazing quilt for Sue’s bed.

Now onto my next Bee in Oz block, a country themed swap and a mug rug swap to finish in the next few days…

… because on Friday next week, I’ll be on a beach in Vanuatu, sipping cocktails in the sun. Had I mentioned my upcoming tropical island holiday before? Hmmmm… no? I’lll need to rectify that… soon.

I have been intrigued by that block for several weeks now but this little novice isn't quite that brave (yet)!
