Bits n Pieces

It’s been a semi-productive sort of day today. Other than working on some sewing projects for the craft stall at my sons school’s spring fair, I’ve made a block for Kate who is in my Bee in Oz group.

Kate requested a starflower block, using this tutorial (I’m so pleased!). Here’s my block for Kate:

I also want to show you some goodies I’ve received in the mail box recently.

These hexi flowers came from my partner Karen last month (sorry I’ve been slack in posting). Perfect, happy colours which will suit the quilt I’m hoping to make.

These hexi flowers, card and extra fabric to make a hexi, were from my August partner, Kathryn (no blog).

I’ll leave you with this photo I took this morning.

The clouds were in a funny sort of mood… or perhaps a space ship made that cut-out circle shape.

Can you see the one I mean?

Here’s a closer look…

  4. I was beginning to wonder if my hexies got lost somewhere! (Them being my first and all I was extra nervous about their safe arrival). Glad you like them!

  5. What nice hexies!
Strange clouds. It looks cold there. It's hard to imagine it being cold anywhere on earth while we have had an entire summer of over 100 degrees.

  7. Lovely, well-made star block.

The shape in the clouds reminded me of one of those old irons that were heated on the fire!
