I am grateful for... Where I live

This week, I'm grateful for ... Where I Live.

We're not rich, by any stretch of the imagination, and don't own a giant McMansion with 12 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms etc...

We live in a little house, on a quite suburban street. The kids can ride their bikes out on the road because the only people who usually drive into our street are the ones who live here - and have kids of their own too.

We have great neighbours and often have street BBQ's and spur of the moment get-togethers.

Another great part of where we live, is our proximity to our favourite duck pond.

It's a 5 minute walk away and we often take old stale bread to feed the ducks.

Sometimes we don't have old stale bread, so we just take the crusts as an excuse to visit them.

With the school holidays keeping us busy, it's nice to be able to to just walk over and chill out for a little while - watch the ducks eat and quack at eachother.

What are you grateful for this week?

  1. Sounds like a terrific part of our fair city. I would love to have a duck pond just a walk away. Visiting the ducks has always been a fave of mine (yet another reason why having children was a great idea... an excuse to hang with the ducks!) x

  3. I love that you're grateful for your home. After all, there are so many that don't have one at all. I'm grateful for our little three bedroom, one bathroom place too. It's a small piece of heaven!

    Have a great weekend. xx

  5. Who wants to clean a McMansion anyway? LOL

I think it's good to count our blessings - good on you for recognising the good things in your life and publicly stating them.

  7. Yes I agree completely. We moved to somewhere a little more rural a year ago and I love it. Having a safe but fun environment that your children can explore is such a bonus. The fact that you've found a little haven in a big city too - excellent.

  9. How delightful. I loved where i grew up in Sydney, i've been lucky to find the best of lots of cities we've lived in while moving around with the Army & our 4 children. We do know now, convenience means nothing, we want space & countryside, love Posie

  10. We are also near to a park and I am very grateful for it. It has a pool for summer days and a huge playpark and bike track for the winter months :)

    Lovely pics!
