Bed Quilting

It was cold last night. Son was at work until late and husband was out with some of work friends and was going to collect him from work.
My girl and I decided that we'd go upstairs rather than hang around downstairs waiting for the boys to get home. She went to her room to watch Stranger Things (for the bazillionth time) and I watched The Great British Sewing Bee on my phone while doing some big stitch hand quilting, in bed.

The light in the room isn't great, but it was fine enough for this process. I'm stitching the second last border of my 'Midnight at the Oasis' quilt and there is finally an end in sight.

Have you ever quilted, while sitting in bed? I've crocheted lots of times while sitting up in bed, but this was the first time I did any quilting... and let's be honest, it probably won't be the last time :)

  2. Your stitching looks wonderful on the quilt- you change up along with the pattern. I don't think my back would allow quilting in bed. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I forgot to say that I usually sit in bed to hand stitch the binding on a quilt, it’s better having so much space to spread the quilt around.

  7. I can't wait to see a full picture of your finished quilt. I wouldn't quilt in bed, I'd pull the quilt over me and go to sleep! Happy stitching!

  8. I’m glad for you that you had fun quilting in bed. I knew a quilting lady that only did her had quilting in or on her bed. She had the best light and found it comfortable and enjoyable.

  11. I don't think I have ever quilted in bed, although I certainly have knitted. But more importantly, are you watching the current series of the Great British Sewing Bee? Where? I am very keen to catch up with it!
