Sunny Joy Quilt {Progress}

I had a busy weekend piecing blocks for my Sunny Joy quilt. It's coming along very nicely and I've absolutely enjoyed playing with my bits and pieces of fabric.

Someone asked me what I consider to be scraps as these pieces look larger that what they'd call scraps.

Basically, anything smaller than a fat eighth goes into my scrap tubs. Sometimes a little bigger if I've cut pieces from a fat quarter.

If scraps are too small, I tend to throw them out. This wasn't always the way and it was completely out of control, but now, if the pieces are too small - say less than around 2", they're tossed.

I've had a number of people enquiring about the pattern for the Sunny Joy quilt and I hope to have it out in the next couple of weeks. Ideally, I'd like to have my quilt finished beforehand rather than just a digital version of the quilt.

I'll leave a picture of Harry here where we can see his eyes. He's so very dark and fluffy that taking (decent) pictures can be tricky. He's growing up very fast, certainly has tonnes of personality and the most AHHMAZING eyelashes.

  5. I put fat quarters and less in my scrap bins but then that is mainly all I buy - is fat quarters or less - occasional yardage for backings and backgrounds and then what is left goes in the scrap bins of course - I use the tiniest for 1.5 inch squares - less than that gets tossed.
    It is a beautiful quilts - I love all the color

  7. This is a sweet perky quilt. I love it. I hope you make it HUGE and then you will have used up a lot of fabric.
    I have mountains of scraps.
    Harry is very adorable. I have a blackish grey, like Harry I suppose, cornish rex kitty girl. She is also very hard to photograph. She looks like a tiny ridiculous unidentifiable smudge.
