FNwF - February 2022

I'm working on a row quilt for Island Batik. It's actually my first ever row quilt and I'm enjoying the process of cutting enough fabric for that specific row and getting it finished in a day or two. Working in small "chunks" rather than thinking about piecing the whole quilt.

I sewed throughout Friday, rather than in the evening. We went out to celebrate my son's birthday last night, so didn't get home until late.

I was working on a row of foundation pieced tulips yesterday. It was a coolish day, but sunny. I had the windows open in the sewing room and from my sewing machine, I could see my dahlia plants all blooming prettily.

All day, my eyes kept wandering over to look at the pretty flowers. When it came time to take some photos of my progress, I thought I'd go and pick a small bouquet to share with you.

Aren't they pretty? So happy and bright and the colours seem to match the fabric I was sewing with so perfectly. I do love dahlia's but they don't seem to last very long before dropping all of their pretty petals. I'll enjoy them while they last, even if only for a short period of time.

I'm joining Cheryll for Friday Night with Friends. Pop over to Gone Stitchin' and see what everyone else got up to last night.

  2. Your blocks and your flowers look very pretty. I brought cut Daliahs in doors the other day and spent the next hour chasing earwigs! They do so love daliahs.

  10. Wow! Such beautiful colors -- the fabrics AND the flowers! Nice to see such prettiness since it's gray and snowy here in the Midwest of USA! Have a great week!
