I'm curious about your applique method. I love the look of the heavy straight stitch outlining each leaf. -- Wait, now I went back and enlarged your photos, and I'm not sure if those leaves are appliqued at all or if you just drew and colored them onto the white background fabric? Is that heavy outline stitch done by hand or by machine, before or after coloring, and what kind/weight of thread is it? I'm fascinated -- it's such a unique look!Rebecca Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14801489818836195754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2603222641266424303.post-26532341573108005452020-07-02T09:10:57.836+10:002020-07-02T09:10:57.836+10:00Thanks Rosemary. I've tried searching when I first started this project, but apparently didn't blog about it. I find FMQing so much easier than straight line quilting. I can't seem to sew more than one of two straight lines at a time before they start looking wonky.

Have a lovely day :)Anorina @SameliasMumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01210287822137630366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2603222641266424303.post-50421589070790658342020-07-02T08:50:44.695+10:002020-07-02T08:50:44.695+10:00Yes it really is nice to get things finished. I've found all of the supplies I'd bought to work on this project too, so as I've been finishing it, I've been thinking of the next one I can start with this colourque method.

There's a bunch of Australian stitching designers (including Helen Stubbings) who've created a group of FB to share some of their designs. They started a Christmas one yesterday. Might be the perfect opportunity.

The group is called Love & Hugs from Australia Stitch Along https://www.facebook.com/groups/557658171771760/Anorina @SameliasMumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01210287822137630366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2603222641266424303.post-60705186408065222782020-07-02T08:43:28.938+10:002020-07-02T08:43:28.938+10:00Thanks Audrey. Her technique inspired me to make several embroideries colored with Derwent pencils. How nice that you're finishing your project. Your hand embroidery is perfect, and your machine quilting is the finishing touch. Well done!FlourishingPalmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13191140553844000267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2603222641266424303.post-53489574768255800192020-07-01T18:39:54.330+10:002020-07-01T18:39:54.330+10:00This is so pretty, such lovely colours. I never got the hang of FMQ; if I machine quilt, it's simple straight or wavy lines, if I hand quilt, it's an overall pattern, both designed to simply hold the layers together. But what you're doing really adds to the beauty of the design.Kate Chiconihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04652877007861293620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2603222641266424303.post-7356580904219417852020-07-01T09:27:56.811+10:002020-07-01T09:27:56.811+10:00Wonderful quilting Anorina, that will be a great f...Wonderful quilting Anorina, that will be a great finish.kiwikidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02267387525703999696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2603222641266424303.post-41503197430865539392020-07-01T07:36:26.310+10:002020-07-01T07:36:26.310+10:00Anorina, oh my, you are incredible.
