Seven for Sunday : 8 April 2018

Happy Sunday my friends. Here are 7 things which I have recently discovered, recently used, or just really like. Perhaps you'll find something that you might like here too.

1. I saw one of those food videos on FB the other night, on a 'new to me' way of roasting sweet potatoes. YUMMO! It's really quite simple, but worked very well.

Slice the bottom off the potato to give it a flat surface. Then, cut 1/2" wide slices into the potato being careful to not cut right through to the bottom. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with chopped fresh rosemary, thyme and season with salt & pepper. Roast for about an hour and serve.

2. I love visiting Jenny of Elefantz - she always has the most wonderful projects and is very generous with sharing them with her readers. Jenny shared a beautiful fabric basket tutorial which I hope to make. You can never have too many baskets, right?

3. The Casual Granny Crochet Along #CasualGrannyCAL hosted by Mandy over at Redagape Blog. Each month, Mandy shares a new granny square pattern. I really must make a start on mine.

4. And after I finish my Granny Stripe blanket, and work on the Casual Granny CAL blocks, the next project I'd like to try is this Moss Stitch in a Square blanket by Repeat Crafter Me. I have quite a few Caron Yarn Cakes in my stash, so this looks like the perfect pattern to use them.

5. The flowers in my garden are few and far between at this stage of the year. So, I've taken to filling glass jam jars with large bouquets of rosemary from my garden. Not only do they give a kind of "churchy" scent, they last a really long time.

Do you use herbs in place of flowers in decorating your home?

6. This plant finder list on the Gardening Australia page. Want to know what that pretty flower is in your garden? This is the place to visit.

7. I'm reading 'Force of Nature' by Jane Harper. It's certainly a page turner and I'm hoping to get it finished before we go away on holiday this week.

"Five women reluctantly pick up their backpacks and start walking along the muddy track. Only four come out the other side..."

  1. Thank you for sharing these 7 items. The potatoe recipe sounds wonderful - and yes, I love to put herbs in pots and other plants in vintage type vases till the roots are quite long before planting them in pots. So fun!
