Kinky Boots {Sydney}

"You change the world, when you change your mind."

Kinky Boots has arrived! After a successful season in Melbourne, Kinky Boots is now playing at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney.

I received an invitation to see this show last weekend. It had been a while since I'd hung out with my sister, so I brought her along for a fun day out - without husbands or kids.

We were attending the afternoon show, so made our way into the city a little early, just in time for lunch. The Capitol Theatre is located near Chinatown so we had an abundance of choice when it came to places to eat. After filling up on deliciousness, we walked to the theatre and joined the other theatre-goers, for what promised to be a wonderful afternoon.

The excitement in the air was palpable. There was a magical buzz as we made our way to our seats to enjoy the show. And oh, what a show! It was absolutely amazing. The singing, the dancing, the sequins and sparkles! It was just wonderful and there wasn't a person who walked out of that theatre who wasn't smiling from ear to ear.

Kinky Boots is highly energetic, flamboyant and absolutely fabulous. The story is inspired by the real life struggle of Steve Pateman as he tried to keep his family business afloat. He decided to reinvent  the business for this niche market. When Steve Pateman's tale was aired on the BBC as part of a documentary series, Hollywood took notice. The story was re-stitched and tailored to the big screen and then reworked with a creative team including Cyndi Lauper to create this magical stage show.

Kinky Boots is about standing up for who you are and what you believe in. It's about being who you want to be!

Kinky Boots is in Sydney until late June 2017 before moving on to Brisbane. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.

NB: I was a guest of Kinky Boots and received complimentary tickets to attend show. All opinions are my own.
