Oh Buoy Quilt - Coastline Blog Tour

Today is my day on the Coastline Fabric blog tour. It has been such fun looking at what everyone has been creating with the Coastline range of fabric, designed by Sharon Holland for Art Gallery Fabrics. You can read all about it here and check to see which other bloggers are participating in the #CoastlineBlogTour

As I live on the coast, this range of fabric really spoke to me. The colours and imagery of the prints are so familiar and dear to me - I couldn't resist the opportunity to join in and create a project.

Oh Buoy Quilt - designed by Anorina Morris

This is my 'Oh Buoy' quilt. For me, Oh Buoy has just enough curved piecing to be enjoyable, but not so much that it's overwhelming. Have I mentioned that curves have always been a little scary to me? Once I made my first curved corner block, I had a bit of a 'light bulb' moment and it came together quite easily after that.

I designed Oh Buoy quilt on EQ7. This block was absolutely perfect as it reminded me of a buoy which is found at the harbour or hanging on the sides of boats.

When I make a quilt, I usually take a few photos in my back garden, or perhaps venture out to the front garden if the light is better there. Oh Buoy inspired a lot of photos. Like any super-model, it even went on a little outing down the road, to Kiama on the south coast of NSW to have a photo shoot.

It was crazy windy up near the light house - and I couldn't resist sharing a few pictures of hubby trying to wrangle the quilt in the wind. He did very well, not letting the wind get a complete hold of it and sweeping it away.

Candace Ayala blogged yesterday with some sweet coastal (and comfy) dresses. Tomorrow, Aida Valverde is having her turn on the blog hop, so be sure to have a look at what these lovely ladies create.

Would you like to win a Fat Quarter bundle of this beautiful Coastline fabric? Sharon is giving away a FQ bundle to one lucky winner and all you have to do it re-post your favourite image/s from the blog tour over on Instagram and include the #CoastlineFabricGiveaway hashtag. A winner will be chosen on 19 February, so there is still plenty of time to enter.
