A Brilliant Cut - Mini Quilt {Blog Hop}

‘A Brilliant Cut – Mini Quilt’ is a fun new pattern from The Fat Quarter Shop - part of their Sew Solids Series and I have to tell you, this was fun to make.

A Brilliant Cut Mini Quilt

A Brilliant Cut is all about what every girl loves, a great big ring! While creating this mini quilt, I kept on channelling Beyonce and singing the lyrics to ‘Put A Ring On It’. Whoops, now it’s stuck in my head – AGAIN!

I thought I’d change up my ring and be a little un-traditional. My Brilliant Cut ring  is made from white gold  with an aquamarine gem stone. A girl can dream about a gem stone that large, right?
It was quilted with 50wt Aurifil # 2530 (gorgeous pink) with a free motion loopy design on all of the pink fabric and completed with an aqua and white spot fabric for the binding.

One suggestion I will make, which really helped me, is to glue a little swatch of fabric over the top of the cutting guide on the pattern, so as not to confuse yourself. I was getting all befuddled when I decided to change up my colour scheme.
