When my children were little, we decided to subscribe to Foxtel. Not necessarily for them, but for us – my husband and I. Being up at all sorts of hours throughout the day and night, it was nice to be able to switch on the television and have something on, which we liked while being forced encouraged to stay awake with unsleeping children.

As the kids got a little older, they discovered the cartoon channels and it’s been the main “go-to” set of channels since. Admittedly, they now mainly enjoy watching the Disney Channel, but it wasn’t so long ago that Disney Junior was the absolute favourite.

Disney Junior is the #1 Preschool Subscription TV channel that brings Magical Storytelling into the homes of young children. The stories are engaging with the much loved Disney Junior characters delivering their stories of generosity, kindness to others and teamwork. These stories touch the hearts of both parents and pre-schoolers alike.

Disney Junior is accessible via Foxtel & Fetch, but with short TV episodes also available via the website and Core TV shows, Sofia the First, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Doc McStuffins are also aired on Free To Air TV (Ch. 7, SUN 6-7am, 7mate, weekday mornings 7-9am, from 6th Oct).

It’s been a while since I’ve had a look at the Disney Junior website and was pleased to see the array of content available including short episodes and sing-along songs, games and activity print-outs for craft, colouring-in etc.

My little lady is a craft addict (much like her mother) and we’re always looking online for colouring pages and craft print-outs, so this will be a wonderful resource for her to explore.
Sofie the First Colouring and Activities
One of Disney Junior’s most popular characters is Jake from Jake and the Never Land Pirates; this follows the adventures of a crew of kid pirates; leader Jake and pals Izzy, Cubby and Scully, as they work to outwit the infamous Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. The show features lots of good guys vs bad guys teamwork action that both boys and girls love, and Jake portrays strong positive values to preschool children that their parents trust and admire.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates

  1. Both my boys and little lady are pirate fans, and love Jake.

  2. My granddaughters both love anything pretty and princessy. My grandson? Unless he can eat it, he's not interested :)

  3. Has to be Doc McStuffins - I love the empowerment to little people - they love the fun situations.

  4. I think my kids would live to see these shows. We don't have foxtel and I see a lot of merchandise in the shops. Thanks for the chance.

    1. CONGRATULATIONS! You are a winner. Please email your postal details and your prize will be on it's way to you soon.

  5. We don't have Foxtel, but I do borrow dvd's from our local library, and my daughters love Sofia The First! She is adorable!

  6. Jake from Jake and the Neverland pirates. He even reaches up to "grab" the gold doubloons form the screen when invited.

  7. I'm not saying this to suck up, but truly, my son and daughter love Jake from Jake and the Never Land Pirates! In fact it was because of Jake that the only fancy dress costume my daughter ever wears is a pirate one! And my son will grow into it one day and I bet he makes the cutest pirate!

  8. We only have regular TV so I guess my kids are deprived! They do have a Doc McStuffins toy which they love so I'm calling that their favourite!

  9. Miss 6 has always love pirates ever since she discover Kwazii the pirate from The Octonauts. Now that she is a little older she is into Jake and the Neverland Pirates. She loves Issy as she is a girl pirate! You don't see many of those around! Miss 4 is a real princess and loves Sofia the First. Her name is Sophie so she loves that her name is almost the same as Sofia and her favourite colour is purple too!

  10. Oscar loves Mickey and Jake. Thanks for letting me know they are on Channel 7, I think we'll be watching Sunday mornings now.

  11. My daughter loves Mickey Mouse, i think it's because I love Mickey Mouse, and as I know I will be watching her favourite show over and over, it moght as well be something that I like too!!

  12. Doc McStuffins
    Imaginative and intrigue
    Stuffy the dragon
Needles my kids now don't fear
    Encouraging careers
Yep 'toy doctors' my girls want to be.

    1. My email didnt show up in my above post. Here it is again.

  13. Minnie Mouse is a favourite in our house. I think its because my mum went to Disneyland and went crazy on Minnie Mouse merchandise for my girls!

  14. As soon as Henry Hugglemonster is in the room (even just hearing his voice!), everything is literally dropped. Heart warming, touching and admirable for the boys!

  15. Ha Ha... Goofy, as it reminds them of their Daddy :)

  16. Jake cause "Pirates are so awesome mum like Jack Sparrow" out of the moths of babes
