Charm Pack Placemat Set

I'm not able to NOT sew. So, I made some placemats to give my IL's.

A little "thank you for feeding and putting up with us, and sorry my son dropped beetroot over your previous placemats, which doesn't wash off..." gift.

The charm pack had 42 squares which made 7 mats - 6 for around the table and one in the centre for a hot plate or the salt & pepper.

I bordered the mats with 2" strips so that there's enough space for the dinner plate, cutlery and a glass.

I backed the mats with this fun animal print flannelette.

I chose to quilt the layers with a big wavy stitch on my machine. It was quick and so easy!

I bought some bias binding to finish it off and machine stitched it on both front and back.

A quick project which can be used for years to come.
